To celebrate Chinese New Year 2012, Lane Crawford is collaborating with Hong Kong Youth Art Foundation to create three dragon sculptures for store display at Lane Crawford ifc mall, Lane Crawford Canton Road and Lane Crawford Pacific Place home store. 

Under the guidance of artists Karen Pow and Chao Harn Kae, a group of 12 secondary students have created a 7-feet tall mirror dragon sculpture for Lane Crawford Canton Road. The mirror mosaic sculpture will reflect the existing setting of the store to enrich the festive atmosphere.

And a 11-feet long dragon created by project artist Gareth Dunster out of stationery such as staplers, correction pens, paper punch and file folders will be seen flying out from a filing cabinet at Lane Crawford ifc mall, while at Lane Crawford Pacific Place home store, shoppers will be experiencing a dragon sculpture made from cardboard, nuts and bolts, showcasing how ordinary materials can create an extraordinary masterpiece.

The dragons will be installed at the 3 stores in the first week of January, 2012.

Leading the Spring/Summer’s trends, sporty airtex mesh is signature in this collection which is cut and molded together with shiny silks and sleek cupro, with delicate lace then added to bring in contrasting emotions, accentuating a more feminine edge.

Encouraging a laid back attitude through masculine inspired silhouettes, tailoring is fluid with white tonal marquis diamond print details, while the designer uses prints as colors such as Paisleys, oriental circles and Bouillard spots which are worked into multiple scales and mixed together in shades of Wedgewood blue and oyster on crepe de chine silks.  

Scaled up and bonded for evening, dense stretch silk prints introduce body contouring silhouettes and all-in-ones in ink and syrah red paisley.
