New York City Ballet announced that Sir Paul McCartney and NYCB’s Ballet Master-in-Chief Peter Martins collaborates on a World Premiere ballet for the Company’s 2011-2012 season.

 

The new ballet, Ocean’s Kingdom, was premiere at NYCB’s Fall Gala performance on September 22, 2011, which marked the first time that Sir Paul has written an original orchestral score for  dance, and featured costumes designed by the acclaimed fashion designer Stella McCartney, who was designing costumes for the theater for the first time ever.

 

 

The ballet was star-studded with the glamourous work of Stella McCartney, as well as her music talent father Sir Paul McCartney, guests on the red carpet included Naomi Watts, Sarah Jessica Parker and Liv Tyler, all dressed in Stella McCartney collections.

The New Gents – Rake and Hart

To celebrate the expansion of Lane Crawford Canton Road and the launch of “lab by Lane Crawford”, Lane Crawford collaborated with Creative Director Marcelo Burlon, one of the most influential multi-talents in the world of fashion, to create an impeccable fashion experience through different forms of art.  Incorporating Burlon’s exceptional creativity shown in his works, he was invited to create a series of stimulating multimedia projects through various art forms including photography, videography and music.

 

Burlon parades his prevailing creativity and talents with art in-store installations at all Lane Crawford stores in Hong Kong and Beijing, showcasing his intriguing multimedia and interactive works such as display of videos shot and edited by himself, his archive showcase, on-demand movie selections, as well as his impactful visuals taken for the project.  The stores are also animated with music playlists mixed by Burlon and his favourite movies for display, creating a dynamic and lively environment for visitors to experience the irresistible power of fashion.

 

The collaboration includes two videos shot and edited by Burlon and portraits featuring 23 most talked-about influencers in Milan including models, artists, stylists, art directors and musicians such as Francesca Nicoletti, Giancarlo Grossi, Honey Redmond, Ilaria Norsa, Lea T, Massimo Mezzavilla, Tamu McPherson and himself to express their definitions of style in the selected fashion brands’ wardrobe from Lane Crawford.

Sally Sohn – Jewelleries of Inspirations

 

Growing up in Seoul, jewelry designer Sally Sohn cultivated her love for antiques and rare jewelry while traveling abroad to extraordinary auction houses around the world. She received formal training and degrees studying gemology at the prestigious GIA (Gemology Institute of America). It was there that Sally realized her passion for jewelry design.

 

         

 

Launching her own collection in 2003 with her iconic vintage pocket watch refurbished with exquisite jewels, Sally Sohn’s inspiration was essentially to create fine jewelry that she would wear personally.  As a designer, she translates the emotions that her inspirations stir, and wants to share it with others who appreciate the same ideas but channel their emotions through a different medium.  Edgy and bold, there are stories behind each piece which become very personal to the wearer, and becomes the one-of-a-kind piece to one person that connects to a memory or loved one, or simply bring high spirits and help one feel empowered.
