JAS M.B. x Winifred Lai

 Hong Kong fashionista, Winifred Lai has collaborated with British leather crafts brand, JAS M.B. to create an array of limited edition travelling bags. taking inspiration from her new travelling book “Reflection, Reflections”, the collection exudes a sense of outdoor expedition but at the same time highlighting a contemporary twist.

What is a better way to go on summer holiday with a chic yet practical bag? Known for its stylish designed leather bags, JAS M.B. is loved by celebrities such as Sienna Miller and Jude Law. Furthermore, to accommodate the different needs in journeys, the JAS M.B. X Winifred Lai collection provides travellers with three styles of bags, the Lowdown, the Shopper and the Cycle bag.

 

The Lowdown is a hand carry size trolley which lines with swift handheld and wheels. It is available in three colours and two materials, black scale leather, cream scale leather and camel canvas, all retailed at HKD 8,500. Aiming for something smaller? The Shopper is perfect for iPad and A4 documents. Like the Lowdown, the Shopper also comes in black and cream scale leather, both styles retailed at HKD 1,500. On the other hand, the casual yet stylish Cycle bag in local navy, retailed at HKD 3,500 is a perfect match for the more active travellers.

Harper’s Bazaar, in partnership with London fashion boutique Browns, has brought together some of Italy’s top female designers to create ‘must have’ limited edition T-shirts in aid of Women for Women International, a charity helping women who have suffered violence, torture and abuse in war and conflict to rebuild their sense of self and find their voice.  By wearing this t-shirt you are changing the world.  One woman at the time.

 

Donatella Versace, Frida Giannini for Gucci, Veronica Etro, Angela Missoni, Alberta Ferretti and Rossella Jardini for Moschino have all stamped their own individual style on the limited edition T-shirts, resulting in wildly different designs.

Together with the launch of the Spring/Summer 2011 campaign, Create & Inspire, Lane Crawford has re-launched its website (www.lanecrawford.com) on March 10, 2011. Giving a sleek new look and fresh content of the most up-to-date news on fashion, design and culture, it is the go-to site for fashionistas and intellectuals alike to track down the latest happenings in the global fashion industry.  Some of the exciting highlights include a new Magazine section –- featuring news on women’s and men’s fashion, design and culture, Daily Obsessions brings you daily updates on latest new arrivals, and Features, which will deliver first-hand fun, interesting, talk-of-the-town exclusive projects, contributed by creative innovators and pioneers from fashion, art, music, design to lifestyle around the world.

 

As part of the launch, Features will debut, lanecrawford.com presents a collaboration with models.com and Justin Wu of “Girls of Autumn/Winter 2011 Fashion Week”. Lane Crawford Spring/Summer 2011 Season Launch Cocktail Event – Live Illustration by Blue Logan

 

Celebrating the launch of Spring/Summer 2011 with an exclusive cocktail event held on March 10, 2011 at Lane Crawford ifc mall.

 

As the catalyst for visionaries to create and curate artwork, Lane Crawford invited guests to view the best in fashion this season and to view the innovative and interactive installations through the lens of a creative mind. In collaboration with Semi-Permanent, artwork created by Simon Birch, Nabil Elderkin, Kayt Jones, Stefan Sagmesiter, Todd Vanderlin, and Danny Yount, were displayed throughout to store to further stimulate customer’s senses. To offer the most inspiring and creative experience, Lane Crawford also invited world-renowned fashion illustrator Blue Logan, who is now in high demand for fashion editorials, to capture scenes of the event by live sketching the key fashionistas in town with his famous quick and quirky style on the wall in store.

 

Music by model-turned-DJ, DJ Yeodie set the tone at the cocktail with an ultra-cool vibe. A selection of fun and gastronomic delights was served at the food station throughout the evening including macaroon, lollipops, and mini-burgers. The distinctive and new style of party vodka sponsored by Belvedere Vodka was served throughout the night to create the ultimate drinking experience. Key celebrities and models including Jennifer Tse, Andy On, Lisa S, Janet Ma, Lynn Xiong, as well as top socialites Feiping Chang, Charlotte Chen, Ingrid Chen, and Ivan Pun, were in attendance to experience the latest designer collections and the series of unique installations through the fun-filled cocktail event.

This season, Lane Crawford becomes the catalyst for visionaries to create and curate artwork. Championing the community to connect and engage, Lane Crawford searches the globe to locate creative minds who share the same vision to express fashion in new possibilities. Design authorities are invited to join hands and launch the season with a fascinating stylebook along with a series of exuberating online and in-store programmes. Paying homage to creative fanatics, this is a season that excites all the senses.

 

Create & Inspire, a comprehensive style directory featuring the latest styles, key products, and most exciting trends in fashion, beauty, design and lifestyle this season. Lane Crawford delved deep into the minds of various artists to uncover their thoughts, creative processes, inspirations, and personal expressions, which are showcased alongside some of the finest work from designers such as Alexander McQueen Creative Director Sarah Burton, jewellery designer Taher Chemirik, and The Rug Company co-founders Christopher Sharp and Suzanne Sharp, to illustrators and graphic designers such as Blue Logan, Stefan Sagmeister, Michael Zavros, and Jonathan Zawada. In addition to the exclusive interviews and artworks, the book also features a photoshoot by graphic designer-turned-photographer, Victoria Tang. Unlike a traditional photoshoot, Tang uses an artistic approach to present the key looks in Menswear and Womenswear by inserting innovative graphic elements.

 

 

To compliment the Spring/Summer 2011 campaign, Lane Crawford also collaborates with Semi-Permanent, the internationally acclaimed conference for creative minds, to share and connect with different people through a new communication platform and in-store installations. Art works by renowned talents at Semi-Permanent including Simon Birch, Nabil Elderkin, Stefan Sagmeister, and Danny Yount, will be displayed at the atrium at Lane Crawford ifc mall in a digital format. International fashion photographer Kayt Jones, who is now in high demand for fashion editorial and campaign shoots, was also invited to curate a unique and interactive space to illuminate and transform Lane Crawford to a creative hub.

 

An exclusive cocktail event will be held on March 10, 2011 at Lane Crawford ifc mall to officially launch this exciting season, guests are invited to view the installations through the lens of a creative mind, and to offer the most inspiring and creative experience, world-renowned fashion illustrator Blue Logan will make an appearance to capture scenes of the event by live sketching the guests with his quirky style on the wall in store. Delicious cocktails sponsored by Belvedere Vodka are served throughout the night. Fun-filled photo booths are also available during the event to further animate the store and for customers to captivate the enchantments. Customers who spend over HK$3,800 in any Lane Crawford stores on March 10 are eligible to enter a lucky draw and are guaranteed to be a winner!
