After Chictopia and Helen Lee, Lane Crawford would like to introduce you another emerging brand from China, Ms MIN. Taking "simplicity with depth, romanticism with edge, classic with twist" as the driving spirit behind the collections, the brand shows all the audience strong sense of culture and arts.
Being on the top emerging designer list, this Xiamen based designer Min Liu was graduated with a BA in Womenswear from the London College of Fashion in 2007. Following a yearlong stint in the atelier department at Viktor & Rolf, Min Liu took an Assistant Designer post with Ports before launching her own signature line, Ms MIN, in January 2010. The brand name “Ms MIN” implies feminism and independence. Instead of being bound by convention, the brand designer, Min Liu prefers Ms. as her title of respect, a prefix that defines her, not by marital status, but by her own worth. Along with this brand direction, Min Liu combines modernity with classicism. Exquisite fabrics, expert technique, beautifully cut silhouettes are the hallmarks of her aesthetic philosophy.
Ms Min collection is available at Lane Crawford Shanghai Times Square and lanecrawford.com.cn.

Lane Crawford has always been supportive in bringing together talented young fashion designers from around the world. Follow by the introduction last week, another emerging China fashion brand that we are thrilled to talk about is HELEN LEE, which has an exclusive collection available at Lane Crawford Shanghai Times Square Store to celebrate the store opening.
Over the past decade, the name Helen Lee has become synonymous with Shanghai fashion. Following her graduation from the Raffles-design-institute and two years working in Japan, Helen Lee returned to Shanghai and founded insh. The success of insh led to the creation of HELEN LEE, a premium brand known for its sophisticated and edgy designs, in 2009. In 2010 HELEN LEE opened her flagship store on Fumin Road in the former French Concession.
Being recognised repeatedly as one of China’s top young designers, Helen Lee has received numerous awards, including Belgium’s Les Etoiles de la Mode, and has her collections displayed at the fashion weeks of Shanghai, Stockholm and Vancouver. The basis for Helen Lee’s remarkable success is her adventurous design philosophy. The process begins with her diverse influences, an exciting mix of East and West, old and new, and continues through the use of sensuous materials and striking textures. Her garments combine an appealing simplicity with intricate details and impeccable quality.

Lane Crawford has always been excited to support new talent and the creativity originating in China. Today, we are introducing one of three up-and-coming China fashion brand which are highlighted in our brand new Shanghai store – Chictopia.
"A Chictopia lady is independent, elegant and always has a sense of humor, who pursues, influences and passes on beauty with passion and attitude of unique in her own way without outside interferences." said the designer of Chictopia Christine Chingyeung Lau.
Born in Beijing and raised in Hong Kong, Christine Chingyeung Lau graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Trained as a textile designer her enthusiasm for fashion motivated her to be a self-taught fashion designer and launched her fashion label, Chictopia, in 2009.
The multi-cultural environment Christine grew up in not only influenced her creative views but also played an irreplaceable role in forming her distinctive style for fashion. Chictopia's philosophy is to create cutting-edge elegance along with blending retro elements with modern simplicity, and provide individual and wearable designs at reasonable price. Christine believes fabric is the key to fashion; therefore she is very specific when it comes to selecting fabrics. Her quirky fabric prints for each collection are the unmissable feature of Chictopia, which makes it a one-of- a-kind fashion label in China. Chictopia pieces were also seen on actresses like Fan Bingbing and Charlene Choi.

LANE CRAWFORD OPENS CHINA FLAGSHIP STORE IN SHANGHAI
CREATING THE ULTIMATE LUXURY FASHION AND LIFESTYLE DESTINATION
Hong Kong (October 10, 2013) - Lane Crawford, the iconic, luxury department store, opens the doors of its China flagship store in Shanghai on October 10, providing customers with a one-stop luxury fashion and lifestyle destination in the heart of the city.
Located in Shanghai’s Times Square at 99 Huai Hai Zhong Road, the new store encompasses 150,000 square feet (approximately 14,000 square metres) over four floors, with 500 international brands across women’s fashion, beauty and fine jewellery, menswear and home and lifestyle.
It is the most extensive international luxury and designer brand portfolio available in Greater China.
The store represents an RMB 400 million investment and is the largest store in Lane Crawford’s portfolio, which now totals eight stores in Greater China.
“Lane Crawford is invested in creating the future of global retail, in the market of the future,” Andrew Keith, President, Lane Crawford said.
“Global retail leadership is now coming from China, and the China customer is at the forefront of fashion. We set out to create the ultimate luxury fashion and lifestyle destination – the largest selection of luxury brands in an innovative, highly visual space, offering world-class service at a scale never before seen in Shanghai,” he said.
The Shanghai store was designed in collaboration with leading international architecture firm Yabu Pushelberg, who have worked with Lane Crawford on four previous stores. The store’s design has taken on a modern gallery approach to retail, enabling Lane Crawford to create dynamic, inspiring and ever-evolving environments throughout.
Mr Keith said the unique collection of products was selected by a buying team of 85 experts based on a deep personal understanding of their Chinese customers and close relationships they have with brand partners globally. Featured brands range from international designers including Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Lanvin, Saint Laurent Paris to new generation designers including Alexander Wang and Sacai, and contemporary collections including Alice & Olivia and the introduction of J. Crew in China.
“When we opened our first store in Beijing in 2007, we introduced more than 300 new international brands to China for the first time. In Shanghai we’re building on that portfolio with greater depth, and driving innovation through an elevated service proposition that includes specialist personalised services not seen before in this market,” Mr Keith said.
More than 20,000 square feet (approximately 1,800 square metres) of the store has been dedicated to personalised services in beauty, fashion and lifestyle conducted in luxurious, private styling areas for a unique, tailor-made experience for customers and delivered by 65 stylists and concierge staff.
As part of Lane Crawford’s connected commerce strategy, the Shanghai flagship store and Lane Crawford’s online store are completely connected to provide a seamless shopping experience both in store and at home. Customers can order online and collect or return their orders at a special Online Shopping Concierge in the store, which is another first in the market.
Another 3,000 square feet (app. 278 square metres) is designated for creative displays and specifically, a space called The Hub aims to showcase and support emerging creative talent in fashion, art and design, by showcasing their work in the heart of the store.
“We’re incredibly excited about the creativity originating in China and we wanted to offer new talent the platform to create and collaborate, while giving them exposure to a broader audience,” Mr Keith said.
Lane Crawford has also bought into the collections of three China fashion designers, Helen Lee, Ms Min and Chictopia, which are highlighted in the Hub and on the womenswear floor, while the retailer’s Fashion Director mentors them on structuring businesses that can ultimately expand internationally.
Mr Keith concluded, “Lane Crawford has a long history in China and particularly Shanghai. Since the company opened its first store here on Nanjing Road in 1872, the city has been an important part of our heritage and we are thrilled to be back in the heart of Shanghai.”

Repetto has now created a fragrance of their very own, an elegant aura, like a ballerina performing an arabesque driven by a subtle signatureproviding self-confidence and lifting the body into the air like a Carlotta ballerina. Repetto called on perfumer Olivier Polge to create the formula, featuring Repetto ambassador Miss Dorothée Gilbert, Principal Dancer of the Opéra National de Paris.
Rose is the fragrance’s spine, rolling over the skin like a satin ribbon. A rhythmical choreography that opens with the optimistic entrechatsof pear and cherry blossom accords. We also recognise the precious essence of rose fusing with orange blossom. A bewitching floral heart that arches towards the powdery base like a dancer in her partner’s arms. Then comes the sensualpas de deux between the vanilla pod and the warmth of the amber wood to create absolute equilibrium. A tender, delicate, refined perfume.
Retail from HK$380 to HK$790, this Repetto fragrance is exclusively available in 3 sizes (30ML, 50ML and 80ML) at Lane Crawford ifc mall, Lane Crawford Times Square, Lane Crawford Canton Road.
