Teaming up for the first time, Rosie Assoulin and Lane Crawford embarked on this bespoke capsule collection project together, where they considered every detail, from the colour theme to design styles. “This exclusive capsule features our signature pieces with a fresh new take on the colour, which is perfect for resort holidays,” Assoulin said. The Lane Crawford worldwide exclusive capsule consists of five wardrobe staples, featuring the brand’s signature voluminous, structured and feminine silhouettes, evolved further with Lane Crawford’s unique edit. Lane Crawford, Asia’s leading iconic luxury department store will stage its second annual talent call in Hong Kong on April 6 and in Shanghai on April 8 to find new brands, product and creatives for its portfolio. 


For this year’s programme titled The Next New, Lane Crawford is extending its invitation beyond designers of Womenswear, Menswear, Home and Accessories to also include entrepreneurs in the areas of gourmet, beauty and gifting to pitch their story and product to the company’s buyers and creative teams. Applicants need to be registered and based in Hong Kong or in China and have been established for less than three years. They will be evaluated on newness in terms of uniqueness of concept, design, craftsmanship, quality and commercial appeal. Lane Crawford will buy into product which will be made available in Lane Crawford’s stores in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and on its global digital flagship store at Christmas 2016 and Chinese New Year 2017. 


In addition to product, creatives including photographers, artists, writers and film directors are invited to show their work to be commissioned for Lane Crawford’s upcoming campaigns, events, window displays and photo shoots.

Last May 2015, buyers were overwhelmed with hundreds of applications both in Hong Kong and Shanghai. A finalised selection of 38 emerging brands and creatives including FFIXXED STUDIOS, which is now launching its Womenswear SS16 collection with Lane Crawford after the success of its AW15 Menswear collection last year, Le Mini Macaron manicure kit, which proved to be one of the Christmas season’s best sellers, and Bookniture, whose red multifunctional furniture has been featured in the Christmas and Chinese New Year promotion. 


Fifteen creative talents were commissioned to work on in store displays, installations, Christmas and Chinese New Year Campaign and Lane Crawford’s 165 anniversary celebration. Among them were Sky Yutaka, who developed a robotic rain flowers motion sculpture displayed at Lane Crawford’s Hong Kong flagship in ifc mall, and illustrator Wingki Kwok who entertained customers with watercolour drawings.



Interested parties that are registered and based in Hong Kong or in China and have been established for less than three years can submit their portfolio and a short introductory video via by March 24, 2016. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their work on the open days in Hong Kong at Lane Crawford One Island South Home Store on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 and in Shanghai at Lane Crawford Shanghai Times Square on Friday April 8.

In celebration of Lane Crawford’s 165th anniversary, Jin Chong Yu, half of the celebrated design duo behind the JINNNN label, was commissioned to create an installation based on his thoughts of the future.

Graduated from École  de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris, Chinese designer Jin Chong Yu launched his label JINNNN with his partner Les Suen when he returned to Shanghai in 2014, and his confident style and attitude has attracted a loyal following ever since. In his “JINNNN bus to the future” installation, his seasonal campaign videos are showcased alongside his AW15 collection exclusively available in Lane Crawford. 

JINNNN’s Autumn Winter 2015 collection takes inspiration from traditional patterns, colors, and hand-embroidery techniques by Chinese Miao ethnic minority group. Chinese elements are reinterpreted and reconstructed by the designer into a modern lifestyle that integrates street fashion.
